You're in the right place. Here's your handbook.

You don't have to figure this out on your own.

Inside you'll find a simple 4-step way to steady yourself and support your child in difficult moments

If you’ve landed here,
there’s a good chance you’re carrying a lot right now.

I just want to say… I see you.
And I’ve been there too.

My own child was in and out of crisis for years.

There were times I felt completely out of my depth

helpless, scared, overwhelmed.

I kept searching for something… anything…
that might help.

At some point it became clear

I wasn’t going to find what we needed out there.

So I started looking more closely.

Reading. Learning. Trying to understand what I was missing.

I’d always believed that love would be enough.

And in a way, it is… but not in the way I thought.

The world our children are growing up in
is fast and intense and often too much.

I began to see that I needed to do things differently.

Again and again, I was gently brought back to the same place...

inward.

To something I already knew,
but hadn’t been able to trust.

We know, deep down, what’s true.

But when everything is loud and urgent,
it’s hard to hear that.

Sometimes we just need a bit of help
to slow things down enough to listen.

Over time, I started to write things down.

Not because I had answers,
but because something was helping.

And I didn’t want to lose it.

That’s where the SAFE™ at Home handbook came from.

It isn’t theory.

It’s just what I found myself coming back to, again and again.

It’s what I wish I’d had
when everything felt like too much.

The four steps...
Safety Check, Arise, Feel Don’t Fix, and Exhale

became something I could hold onto.

They helped me pause.
They helped me breathe.
They helped me stay with my child,
even when I didn’t know what to do.

You might want to keep this on your phone
and come back to it when things feel hard.

And just to say...

you don’t have to do this perfectly.

You really don’t.

You just have to stay.

With love,

Teri

If this already feels like a lot...

You don't have to take any of this in right now.

If things feel overwhelming, I've created a quiet, private space where you can just land for a bit.

You don't have to share anything or engage.

It's simply there if you need somewhere to feel a little less alone.

(You'll be guided through a simple sign up to keep this space safe)

If, at some point, you feel ready for a little more support than the handbook offers, I've created something to gently guide you in using what you've just received.

The SAFE™ Practice Toolkit is a simple, step-by-step way to help you move from reading... to responding... especially in the moments that feel hardest - even in the middle of a crisis.

  • Ground yourself in minutes, so you can respond calmly instead of react.

  • Have a clear, repeatable way to support your child.

  • Feel less alone, with something to lean on in difficult moments.

For when you need more than a handbook...

A gentle set of short videos and guidance to walk alongside you as you begin to use the SAFE™ Practice in real life.
